Description:
Bamag U7. The Berlin gas lantern.
It was a cityscape feature in Berlin, and it was an event when these lanterns - some of which were installed in four rows on Charlottenburg and Zehlendorf streets - flared up at dusk. Berlin's gas lanterns, of which 22,000 were installed at one time, have been dismantled for a decade and replaced by electric lights. The most famous among them, the Bamag U7 top-mounted luminaire built since 1951, you can now grant a refuge in your apartment. In addition to its appearance, it has the visually pleasing effect of a double light emission, which is due to an upper opening in the upper part of the shade, which initially serves only for heat dissipation.
